SIS Introduces OAS CAHPS Survey Offering

SIS Surveys™ powered by Nexus Health Resources available for ASCs and HOPDs 

Alpharetta, Georgia, October 31, 2024Surgical Information Systems (“SIS”), the industry leader for business and clinical surgical software for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), announced an OAS CAHPS survey offering, SIS Surveys, for ASCs and hospital outpatient departments (HOPDs). 

Beginning in 2025, ASCs are required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to implement the Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (OAS CAHPS) survey or be subject to reduced Medicare reimbursement rates. The OAS CAHPS Survey became mandatory for HOPDs in the beginning of 2024. 

The OAS CAHPS survey gathers information about patient experiences of care in Medicare-certified ASCs and HOPDs for patients 18 years and older. This information is intended to inform quality improvement and comparative consumer information about outpatient facilities. 

Nexus Health Resources, a CMS-certified OAS CAHPS survey vendor, will manage, administer, and report the OAS CAHPS survey for SIS Surveys clients. “We continue to see a large number of facilities that have not selected an OAS CAPHS vendor,” says Nexus Health CEO Virginia Feldman. “Working together with SIS, we are pleased to introduce the SIS Surveys package, an offering for SIS clients that's easy to implement for both new centers and those looking to change survey vendors.”

The survey interface makes it easy and efficient for ASCs and HOPDs to deliver the required case data needed for the surveys, removing the need to run manual reports and then package and deliver the information to their survey vendor.
