SIS Leaders and Ambulatory Surgery Center Attendees Share ASC Technology Insights
ASCA 2024 delivered an exciting week of education and learning in Orlando for the ASC community! As a silver-level sponsor, the Surgical Information Systems (SIS) team was very busy telling attendees all about the latest advancements with both the SIS Complete platform and SIS' Revenue Cycle Services. SIS team members Dr. Paul Alcock, Chief Information Security Officer, and Jessica Nelson, Vice President of Revenue Cycle Services, delivered educational sessions focused on proactive cybersecurity and billing practices, respectively.
At its exhibitor booth, SIS conducted an ASC Technology Survey, inviting meeting attendees to share their thoughts about a range of technology topics. Sixty-nine ASC-employed ASCA attendees completed the technology survey. They were primarily ASC administrators, business office managers, and clinical managers. Sixty-four percent of respondents were from facilities with between 1-5 operating rooms (ORs), and 58% represented multi-specialty practices.
The two technology areas top of mind for respondents were Reporting & Analytics and Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). Attendees interested in Reporting & Analytics were excited to see SIS introduce SIS Insights™, a new, self-service reporting solution. SIS Insights is designed to deliver even more flexibility around reporting and data visualization. Attendees interested in electronic documentation were able to learn more about SIS Charts™, SIS’ award-winning EMR that is included with SIS Complete.
ASCs have unique technology and workflow requirements, and survey respondents recognize the importance of using technology designed for those requirements. Ninety-seven percent indicated that “ASC-specific software is critical to the success of my ASC.” And it came as no surprise to us that 75% of respondents agree or strongly agree that “SIS Complete is the leading ASC software platform.” SIS Complete continues to be adopted by ASCs, and it's now the choice of over 1,000 ASCs.
