Although the Meaningful Use Program does not directly affect ASCs, the indirect effects are compelling ASCs to have a better understanding of EMRs, interoperability and the role of ASCs in the electronic health transformation. Whether willingly or not, ASC administrators will need to implement EMR solutions at their facilities to keep pace with the changing healthcare environment.
